Feeding Instructions

Crested geckos require a high quality diet tailored specifically for them, administered three or four times each week. Insects provide added entertainment as well as exercise; plus they help juveniles grow faster while fattening thin adult geckos!

When providing insects, always be sure that they haven’t been treated with chemicals. Insects tend to be better options than mealworms as their weak mandibles won’t harm your crested gecko as much. Crickets and dubia roaches make great snacks.

If feeding homemade puree or smoothie, lightly dust insects at each feeding with a multivitamin powder that does not include vitamin D3. When providing complete crested gecko food mixes such as Pangea Fig & Insects or Repashy Grubs N’ Fruit mixes, do not supplement with vitamin D3 supplements as this could upset their diet balance.

Ingredients

Pangea’s latest complete gecko diet mix, Pangea Fig & Insects is designed to create an enthusiastic feeding response from gecko pets. Formulated to contain minimal levels of oxalates, antinutrients and phosphorous so your crested gecko can digest its food more quickly and efficiently. This Pangea recipe uses North American farm raised crickets and black soldier fly larvae, providing increased omega fatty acids. In addition, this mix features organic dried mango, organic dried apricots and other sweet fruits for variety of flavors your gecko will enjoy! Additionally, banana-free varieties may make this mix less appealing; thus it mixes more thinly than other Pangea recipes.

Two ounces will provide enough food for a baby crested gecko to feed 30 to 35 times or about 1.5 months.

Storage

Gecko diets consist of dry powder mixes mixed with water. To ensure that all of the ingredients are evenly mixed together, and to provide sufficient insulation against heat loss. Some geckos prefer thicker food while others may prefer it more runny.

Pangea’s latest creation for gecko food contains insects as one of the main components, designed to mimic their natural diet and prompt an enthusiastic feeding response from customers. Pangea conducted two years of research, development and testing on this formulation before officially unveiling it as commercial product.

As with fruit or bread products, it’s normal for food prepared for gecko to produce some mold as it sits. This kind of mold is completely safe for their consumption. Additionally, some dark dots in their food could indicate bioavailable iodine leaching into its content from kelp.

Shelf Life

Pangea gecko food comes as a dry powder mix that must be mixed with water before being fed to geckos. Shaking works well but some geckos might prefer thinner consistency food.

No matter the diet – Pangea fruit mix, fig and insect or growth and breeding formula – each product is designed with top-grade ingredients for maximum effectiveness in providing your crested gecko with all of the vital vitamins and nutrients they require to thrive. Each product has a minimum level of protein and fat to ensure an ideal environment.

Pangea gecko foods come in an assortment of flavors and color options, and some can even be quite fragrant. When feeding your reptile fresh food it is important to check the expiration date as expired products could contain harmful bacteria which could make them sick; if in doubt consult a veterinarian. Expired items must be thrown away.
