Metallic blue Oranda Goldfish are an uncommon color variant of the common black Goldfish. While these fish love being fed, overfeeding can be fatal for them as any food that goes uneaten rots away into the environment and feeds algae, bacteria and even water mold (Saprolegnia).
An active lifestyle and varied diet are crucial for these fish. We advise providing a mix of specialized goldfish flake and granules, along with vegetables (blanch for several seconds in boiling water for added fiber) once or twice weekly to add fiber and roughage.

Xtreme Spirulina Flakes
Spirulina flakes make an excellent food choice for blue goldfish as they contain high levels of protein and nutrients, helping the fish digest food more effectively to minimize waste production. Furthermore, this species of algae contains probiotics to support healthy digestive function.
Spirulina (Arthrospira fusiformis) is a species of freshwater algae or cyanobacteria that is commonly used as an ingredient in aquarium foods due to its abundance in essential fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. Furthermore, Spirulina also contains immunostimulants which stimulate immune cells that conduct phagocytosis, the process whereby immune cells attack bacteria and viruses.

Blood parrot cichlids make great tank additions, but they can sometimes become aggressive. With small mouths that may damage or consume other fish in their tank. To reduce aggression, try installing tall decorations that block line-of-sight; providing your fish more hiding places and hiding spaces; adding a dither fish; or upgrading the size of your aquarium.
As with all aquarium food, it’s essential that this be stored in a cool dark environment to prevent spoilage and loss of nutrients, particularly vitamins such as Vitamin C which quickly become degraded when exposed to air.
