Easy-to-use

Feeders installed at the entrance of beehives provide an effective means of feeding your colony with simple syrup when food sources become limited. This 1 quart feeder features an extendable tray to make feed more accessible for bees while its clear glass jar enables easy monitoring of syrup levels without upsetting their equilibrium.

Alternatively, consider investing in a pro feeder. This durable option sits inside the hive, replacing one of its frames, and features anti-bee drowning mechanisms like cap systems that seal feeding tubes as well as an interior wall with texture for easy bee identification. Plus, these feeders are easy to keep clean while offering long-term durability!

Easy to refill

These feeders are designed to fit directly into hive entrances and feature a feeding tray and inverted syrup container, making them simple to monitor and refill without disrupting colony activity. However, they don’t work well during cold weather and food may spoil quickly in direct sunlight.

An improved alternative is a baggie feeder: fill a sealable plastic freezer bag with sugar syrup, gently squeeze out any air pockets from within it, place over the hive entrance and close – then make several holes in its lid so bees can feed from their holes!

These entrance feeders are an ideal solution for spring and early spring when bees may require extra nourishment as natural sources become limited. Durable and easily cleaned, they allow you to monitor sugar water levels without disturbing the bees while working well with standard Mason jars.

Easy to clean

Entrance feeders (also called boardman feeders) are an efficient and popular choice for feeding your beehive. They consist of a feeder jar that sits outside the entrance and a tray that slides in. Once full, syrup runs off into the tray allowing you to monitor its level without opening your hive.

Another benefit of this type of feeder is its ease of maintenance and cleaning: its feeder jar can be removed easily from its tray for refilling without wearing protective gear, while you don’t have to wear eye protection to do it. Unfortunately, however, cold weather could result in it freezing over.

Division board feeders are another viable solution, replacing frames inside your hive and easily refilling via their ladder-type interior that prevents bees from drowning. They make great starter packages or colonies without much honey stored yet; their convenience requires you to open up your hive when refilling though!

Easy to monitor

As their name implies, these feeders fit directly into your hive’s entrance. Designed specifically to fit in large openings like those found on Langstroth or Warre hives (though Top Bar hives can also use them), these feeders use an inverted syrup container inserted into an internal feeding tray which makes these systems easy to monitor and refill without opening your hive.

These containers can also be used to feed sugar bricks and pollen patties, though they’re vulnerable to theft due to being so close to their entrances and are extremely heavy, often spilling their syrup all over upon being moved.

These dense plastic feeders can hold a canning jar full of syrup for easy addition. Once filled, simply seal and slip part way into your hive’s entrance for use.
