Full tank cattle feed is a nutritional product designed to increase the capacity of the stomach or rumen. It comes as an 18% pelleted size and should be fed dry.
This product can be used on show pigs, livestock animals that require added rib shape and stomach capacity, and purebred cattle with limited feeding to limit weight gain. Additionally, it serves as a holding ration in the days and weeks leading up to an upcoming show.

1. Storage
Your full tank cattle feed’s quality and shelf-life depend on where it is stored. Without a shelter or other protective structure around the containers, pests such as rats, mice, and insects could potentially damage it.
A great way to guarantee the freshness and quality of your livestock feed is by storing it in a dark-colored tub or drum with an airtight lid. Doing this helps prevent sunlight from damaging its quality or shelf-life.
In addition to storing your feed in a dark-colored container, it’s also essential that it is partially shaded from direct sunlight. Sunlight can cause the feed to become extremely dry and may lead to various health issues for animals. Even when stored airtight in an airtight container, exposure to direct sunlight may still cause rancidity.
2. Pumping
Pumping water from a well to a tank is the primary method for providing livestock with water. To do this, the pump must have enough pressure to push water through pipes, valves and elbows into an elevated tank where many animals can drink simultaneously. For tanks with limited access, pumps should be sized so that each head of livestock will get 2 gallons per minute (gpm).
Pumping liquid feed commodities involves several factors, such as total dynamic head (TDH), water pressure and friction losses. TDH is calculated by combining static head (water depth at lowest seasonal and draw-down levels) with elevation from surface to discharge point. Additionally, flow rate through pipes, fittings and joints must also be taken into account; for instance, a 10 foot column of water exerts about 4.3 psi pressure).
3. Blending
Full tank cattle feed is blended with other ration components such as forage, concentrates and protein supplements to provide a more consistent daily feeding rate which can save money in the long run. It’s also effective when used as filler in complete ration systems. Sunglo(r) Full Tank citrus pulp-based formula features added probiotics for gut health benefits; its pelleted 1/8” fill product expands better than beet pulp at retaining water, helping keep heifers filled and fresh while drying out for that show day fill look which reduces stress levels and hard chestes when fed dry. Furthermore, this ingredient works great when limited feed intake to control weight gain for purebred cattle breeders too!
4. Cleaning
Sunglo(r) Full Tank is the first-to-market pelleted filler that provides more efficiency than beet pulp alone due to its 1/8″ pellet size. Additionally, it contains citrus pulp for gut health and support and should be fed dry to retain water and expand more than beet pulp does. Perfect for show pigs needing added rib shape or stomach capacity as well as animals who require additional food while delaying maturity for later. Also effective on cattle, sheep and goats; often used on purebred heifers to stay fresh without adding too much chest mass.
