The COVID-19 pandemic sent shockwaves through the birdseed industry, but perhaps not in ways many anticipated. Instead, it may have fostered innovation and created new markets.

Sunflower

Sunflower seeds are used in this nutritious blend to attract many different species of birds throughout the year, such as cardinals, chickadees, doves, finches, jays, nuthatches, sparrows titmice and towhees. Their extra clean and thin shelled form provides maximum energy to these feathered friends and can be fed using various feeder styles like hopper, platform or tube feeder designs for maximum bird attraction in your yard. Black oil sunflower seed also offers higher fat content that may attract woodpeckers to your yard.

White Millet

Millet (Panicum miliaceum) is a gluten-free cereal grain rich in soluble fiber and phenolic compounds as well as magnesium and B-complex vitamins, providing wild birds with energy in an easy-to-digest package that has a sweet nutty flavor that they enjoy eating.

Like sunflower seeds, this treat is beloved by cardinals, chickadees, doves, finches, jays, nuthatches, sparrows and towhees. A rich source of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and protein; it can be scattered on the ground or put into low tray feeders for convenient distribution; it also makes an excellent addition to mixed feed mixes.

White proso millet can be found mixed with sunflower seed in many bird feeds, including our Premium blend. You may also use it to customize your own mix; just be mindful that cowbirds and house sparrows love millet. However, it should be avoided to prevent cowbirds or house sparrows from visiting!

Milo

Milo is a global chocolate malted drink brand, offering both hot and cold milk users a delicious chocolate malted drink experience, or can simply be eaten plain as is. Milo contains milk powder, cocoa, sugar and malt extract – along with essential vitamins and minerals for child development.

Sorghum is a versatile grain that can be ground, cracked, steam flaked, roasted or even popped like popcorn! Sorghum can be used as a rice replacement, beer ingredient and in flatbread baking; our restaurant takes its name from this amazing ingredient and uses its versatility in our menu offerings.
