Watermelon Complete Diet

Since 2013, our Watermelon Complete Diet has been one of our most beloved crested gecko foods. It’s suitable for gargoyle geckos (Rhacodactylusauriculatus), New Caledonian giant geckos, mossy prehensile-tailed geckos, day geckos and all fruit eating geckos.

This refreshing melon is packed with essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C. Additionally, it boasts high amounts of potassium, magnesium, antioxidants, and has a low calorie density for added nutritional benefits.

Watermelon is an excellent source of the amino acid citrulline, which can aid in improving exercise performance and relieving muscle soreness. Furthermore, it boasts high amounts of lycopene–the phytonutrient responsible for giving its flesh its vibrant red hue–to give it that deep red color.

A nutritious diet should include plenty of fruits and vegetables, which provide essential nutrients while being low in calories. Eating colorful foods like watermelon can help protect you against heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers. Furthermore, limit the amount of sugary drinks like sodas or juices you consume.

Banana Papaya Complete Diet

Pangea’s Banana Papaya Complete Diet is the product of over five years of development and testing, providing ideal levels of calcium for strong bones and egg laying, high quality protein for growth and reproduction, as well as essential nutrients to keep your geckos healthy.

This formula contains over 50% real banana and papaya fruit, without any seeds, nuts, or seed meals and it has been specifically formulated to contain low levels of anti-nutrients like oxalates and phytates. These substances may lead to poor egg quality, slow growth, weak bones, Floppy Tail Syndrome and other calcium related problems in geckos.

This diet can be offered as the primary food for crested geckos and mixed with fig or insect feedings to provide enrichment value. Typically, this formula is fed daily, with live insects added a few times a week for added convenience.

Fig & Insects Complete Diet

Pangea’s Fig & Insects Complete Diet is a banana-free formula with an irresistibly strong fig smell and flavor to tempt picky geckos to eat. Perfect for picky geckos who don’t enjoy banana-flavored foods, you can offer this powder in rotation with other fruit powders to ensure a well-rounded diet.

This formula contains twice as much insect protein as the original “Pangea with Insects” formula, including crickets, black soldier fly larvae and organically-grown mealworms to increase omega fatty acid content. Furthermore, it is lower in oxalic acid than the standard “Original with Insects” formula.

Keepers typically provide their crested geckos with a combination of commercially prepared foods and insects. For instance, three nights per week they may provide commercial crested gecko paste to their pet, while providing various crickets or roaches on the other nights.

Growth & Breeding Formula

Crested geckos make excellent pets for new reptile owners due to their ease of upkeep. You can feed your crested gecko either a prepared diet or offer live food such as crickets to keep it healthy and active.

Hatchlings should be fed 4-5 times per week, while adults only require 2 or 3 feedings. Feed balanced commercial mix diet food and gut-loaded+supplemented crickets at least twice a week for hatchlings, and once a week for breeding crested geckos.

Your crested gecko can benefit from fresh fruits in puree form or smoothies once a month; such as bananas, guavas, papaya or dried figs. Be sure to supplement these homemade purees with minerals and vitamins for added nutritional value.
