Ingredients
Pangea’s complete gecko diets consist of dried fruits and other ingredients palatable to frugivorous crested geckos. These diets should form one half of their daily food regimen when combined with live dusted and gutloaded insects.
Each formula features 2-3 powdered fruits as its main component and may include other elements to meet cresties’ unique palates. Banana powder is present in five of six Pangea complete gecko diets while other flavors such as apricot, mango, papaya and watermelons may also be included.
Pangea complete gecko diets are made in the US from only high quality ingredients that are free of antinutrients such as oxalates or phytates, seeds or nuts, seed meal, cereal grains or high oxalate vegetables and preservatives, and boast an up to one year shelf life when stored at room temperature or six months when placed in the fridge.
Purpose
Pangea Growth and Breeding Formula was specifically created to meet the special requirements of breeding crested geckos, though all geckos can benefit from feeding it throughout their lives. With high levels of protein and fat derived from crickets and black soldier fly larvae as well as delicious banana and apricot mix for enthusiastic feeding responses from most geckos, Pangea Growth and Breeding Formula ensures consistent egg production throughout breeding seasons.
Pangea suggests offering this complete diet at least every other day and adjust as necessary based on your breeding schedule.
This gecko food mix can be eaten best when mixed like ketchup (2 parts water to 1 part powder). Open bags may be stored either at room temperature or chilled temperatures and will last up to one year once opened.
Mixing
Pangea complete gecko diets, breeding adult diet mixes and young pet diets should always be thoroughly mixed before feeding it to your crested gecko. You can use a squeeze bottle or stir the contents of the bag. Pangea diets tend to separate over time if not thoroughly mixed – this is normal and shouldn’t pose any difficulties when feeding their food to crested gecko’s.
Pangea offers six delicious complete gecko diets that will delight and satisfy even your pickiest pet crested gecko, each offering different tastes to keep it happy and satisfied. Watermelons mango is one of the most favored mixes and provides great feeding response – also, this diet offers slightly higher amounts of fat and protein than its peers, making it an excellent choice for breeding adults who lay eggs!
Pangea Gecko Diet With Figs & Insects is another highly palatable option, providing high levels of protein for breeding adults while still being tasty to them. Packed with crickets and black soldier fly larvae for added protein and calcium content, it comes with an extended expiration date to make sure it remains fresh and delicious for longer.
Storage
Since 2013, Pangea Gecko Diet: Growth & Breeding Formula has become one of the premier crested gecko diets. Formulated specifically to meet crested gecko reproduction needs and fortified with extra protein, its delicious mix is free from seeds, nuts and cereal grain seed meals; thus enabling breeding females to include crickets or black soldier fly larvae for increased egg production. Incorporation of crickets or black soldier fly larvae provides necessary insects needed by breeding females and also aids strong egg production – perfect for gargoyle geckos (Rhacodactylus auriculatus), New Caledonian giant geckos (Rhacodactylus leachianus), Chahoua Day Geckos and all fruit-eating species!
Pangea gecko diets can be used as complete or supplemented diets, including natural dried fruits and occasional insect feedings. To prepare these diets, simply combine water with powdered ingredients until a consistency no thicker than ketchup is reached; some keepers may prefer shaking or stirring instead; all methods will work equally well and then serve directly or store for up to 7 days in the refrigerator before feeding your gecko(s).
