In southern Saskatchewan, a feedlot manager is needed to oversee the production of livestock feed. This position reports directly to the Regional Operations Manager and is responsible for ensuring that the feed is manufactured to order and adheres to regulations. This position also supervises 2 to 3 employees and performs other duties as assigned. This position is ideal for someone with previous experience in the feed industry. A diploma or degree in agriculture would also be an asset.

In addition to managing inventory, this job also requires knowledge of animal care, calving, and training. The employee must also be able to maintain detailed records of livestock performance and health and recognize various health issues.

Compound cattle feed

The Compound Cattle Feed program in Saskatchewan is a free program that allows livestock producers to save money while feeding their cattle. It is available to livestock producers in Saskatchewan and Alberta with a capacity of more than 1,000 head. Producers participate by filling out a simple form once a month. The form asks them to report the number of cattle they placed on feed and finished cattle they shipped out. The report is then faxed to all participants in the program.

Compound feed is a blend of ingredients from different feed concentrates. Some of these ingredients include grains, brans, protein meals, chunnies, and agro-industrial by-products. It also includes vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. The final compound feed can be in the form of pellets, cubes, or mash. It is an excellent source of nutrients for growing cattle. In addition, its regular use will optimize milk production and increase profitability.

Veterinary drug use in food animals

The use of veterinary drugs in food animals has become an issue of concern for the EU’s food safety policies. These drugs, which are defined as substances used to treat or prevent disease, diagnose diseases, and restore or modify physiological functions in animals, can pose risks to humans. For this reason, monitoring of animal-production facilities for the presence of veterinary drugs has become an important goal for the EU and member states.

The most commonly used veterinary drugs in food animals are antibiotics. These drugs can help fight bacterial and viral infections in food animals. Some of these drugs include penicillins, fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines, and sulfonamides. There are also anti-parasitic drugs, which are used to fight parasitic diseases in animals. Antiparasitic drugs are divided into two categories: one for preventing and controlling parasitic diseases in food animals and the other for controlling parasites in animal digestive systems.

FeedAssure program

The Saskatchewan government has pledged to provide millions of dollars to help cattle producers in need of financial assistance. As part of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership, the province is offering drought assistance to eligible producers. The drought has damaged many crops and pastures in Saskatchewan. With the new program, producers can receive up to $200 per head of cattle.

The FeedAssure program is available to producers in the province. The program provides a rebate for expenses such as veterinarian assessments and VBP+ audits. It also covers approved expenses for equipment. There are limits on the amount of rebates available, but basic weigh indicators are still eligible. Eligible producers must be a First Nation member of the Province of Saskatchewan and must produce beef.

GST number

If you sell your Saskatchewan cattle feed, you need a GST number. The amount varies from province to province, so it’s important to check the rules before making a purchase. Generally, the maximum amount that you can deduct is the cost of the feed. But, if you are selling more than this, you will need to add a separate amount for the GST.

The threshold for collecting the GST/HST is $30,000 in third-quarter sales. However, in some circumstances, the customer wouldn’t be liable for the tax. That’s where the place of supply comes in.
