Healthy Skin and Coat
Bananas are an excellent source of Vitamin A, an essential nutrient for maintaining healthy skin and coat. Furthermore, potassium provides essential support for cell function and muscle formation.
Bananas contain both soluble and insoluble fiber that helps your dog regulate his digestive system. Since bananas contain high amounts of sugar, however, it’s best to limit how often your pet eats them to avoid weight gain and other health complications.
Slicing bananas into small pieces and hand-feeding them as snacks or treats for your dog are an easy and nutritious snack or treat option, while they can also be frozen to provide a cold and refreshing treat. Mash the bananas with other ingredients such as peanut butter and yogurt to fill treat-dispensing toys for dogs – however remember treats should only comprise 10% of their diet, and always consult your veterinarian before adding anything new to their menu.
Hypoallergenic
Bananas are naturally hypoallergenic, making them an excellent treat option for dogs with food allergies. Plus, this recipe allows you to utilize any overripe bananas sitting around!
These delicious treats provide your pup with essential soluble fiber, potassium, vitamin B6 and magnesium to promote bone health, digestive wellness and reduce bloat. Plus they’re an excellent source of vitamin C to help strengthen immunity!
As with any food, bananas should only be fed to your pet in moderation to prevent weight gain, digestive issues or allergic reactions. When serving bananas to your pup for the first time, always peel and discard their skin before beginning small servings – always consult your vet prior to adding anything new into their diet and they can provide guidance regarding safe amounts for each unique pup!

Easy to Prepare
Your dog is sure to love these banana and peanut butter treats, which are easy to make using only three ingredients! This recipe makes a large batch that will fill two cookie sheets; simply line both with parchment paper beforehand in order to prevent sticking!
Start by making the dough. Mash bananas (I used a potato masher), mix in peanut butter and egg, and scoop onto a floured surface to knead until there are no longer any sticks; roll out to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut your dough into small shapes using a cookie cutter, placing each on a parchment-lined baking sheet, and baking in a preheated oven for 18-20 minutes.
Allow the treats to cool before refrigerating or freezing them in an airtight container. For crunchier treats, bake for longer.
