Can I feed my goldfish betta fish food?
Goldfish can consume foods intended for tropical fish, however betta fish food contains too much protein for goldfish to digest, and may float to the surface of an aquarium and increase ammonia levels in your tank.
Goldfish Betta food should only be fed temporarily; to ensure your goldfish is getting all of their necessary vitamins and nutrients. For optimal results, look for food designed specifically for goldfish as this will ensure they get what they require.
Keep in mind that betta fish are extremely active creatures, requiring an energy-rich diet filled with energy-producing proteins to support them and their rapid metabolism. A diet lacking energy may result in malnutrition or stunted growth resulting in severe health consequences for these aquatic creatures.
Can I feed my goldfish frozen food?
Goldfish are bottom feeders that enjoy nibbling at tank vegetation. Their diet needs to provide them with essential vitamins and minerals, so for best results it is recommended that they consume a formulated fish meal with lower levels of carbohydrates and proteins.
