AP23

AP23 is an artificial pollen replacement designed to closely match the nutritional properties of natural pollen. Furthermore, its probiotic ingredients enable honey bees to more easily digest it.

This product provides an ideal alternative to pollen patties for feeding late winter bee colonies. At only 2.5% protein content, this food won’t stimulate brood rearing while still providing vital carbohydrates needed to keep colonies alive and kicking!

Feeding with this easy-to-prepare winter feed can also provide valuable reserves during those colder months when supplies may become low.

To create dadant winter patties, simply combine 1 part dry AP23 with 1.7 parts heavy syrup (e.g. fructose corn syrup, 50/50 blend, or sucrose syrup). Leave to soak overnight before placing directly atop of frames of your brood chamber.

Honey-B-Healthy

Dadant winter patties offer an easy and cost-effective solution for feeding your bees a high-carbohydrate feed during the cold months of winter. A great alternative to sugar syrup or candy which don’t provide sufficient nourishment or feeding stimulants, these patties make an excellent way to support their well-being and ensure survival during their hibernation phase.

Beekeeping equipment also plays a crucial role in keeping bees warm and energetic during winter, when nectar or pollen sources might not be readily accessible.

Bees consume this patty to stay warm and gain food and energy for their bodies. For optimal bee health, our formulation includes AP23 and Honey-B-Healthy to provide your bees with proper nourishment.

This high-protein and carbohydrate feed will not promote brood rearing but instead will provide your bees with the carbohydrates they require to stay warm during cold winter months and maintain strong colonies. Formulated to closely mimic natural pollen nutrients while being easily digestible by honey bees. AP23 makes up part of this feed.

Sugar

Sugar is a sweet food substance found in various food items such as fruit and dairy products, adding flavour, colour, bulk and keeping mould at bay.

Sugar is an invaluable source of energy, offering quick boosts that provide vitality to our bodies and can contribute to chronic conditions like diabetes and obesity. But too much sugar may also lead to dental decay and gout problems.

Apart from providing you with an instantaneous energy boost, glucose can also store some in your body through glycogenesis – meaning longer periods without eating can be achieved when extra glucose remains within you.

Sugar patties are an easy and affordable way to provide essential carbohydrates to bee colonies during winter months when honey stores may be low. Their convenient patty shape makes them simple for keepers to add directly to hives while their high protein content makes them an invaluable food source.

Water

Winter patties are high carbohydrate feeds designed for honey bee colonies low on stores during the winter months, including sugar supplemented with artificial pollen 23 (AP23) and Honey-B-Healthy, an energy boosting feeding stimulant that has proven its worth among bee colonies.

Beekeepers find them easy to manage and add as needed; additionally, their patty shape offers additional nutrition during winter when nectar or pollen may not be readily available.

If you want to create some dadant winter patties, you have two sugar options for making the dough: plain granulated sugar or mixing up sugar syrup and water together. Just ensure that water is added before sugar and oil are added.
