Pangea and Repashy have quickly earned their place as two respected brands of crested gecko diet powder. Let’s compare and contrast them both to see which is superior.

Watermelon Mango

Crested geckos are omnivorous animals in the wild, feeding on both insects and fruit. Since they require a diet high in calcium and low in phosphorus, it’s best to provide fruits that contain both of these elements, like papayas, figs, berries, or prickly pear fruits with plenty of vitamins and minerals – especially papaya and figs which contain both nutrients.

Before there were commercial crested gecko foods available, many owners fed their pets baby food mixed with fruit to meet their dietary needs. Unfortunately, this diet often contains high amounts of sugar, additives and preservatives which could potentially harm their pets’ health.

Pangea and Repashy offer an abundance of crested gecko foods to provide your pet with a balanced and nutritional diet. Their dry powder mix can easily be added water for delicious meals; while some even come with live insects for mental stimulation.

Fig & Insects

Crested geckos are predominantly frugivorous creatures that enjoy eating both fruit and insects in the wild. Pangea offers several different powder diets designed specifically to meet each stage in their lifecycle with flavors they find highly appealing to these unique reptiles.

As the wasp explores within a fig, she gathers pollen from its female flowers and deposits it onto different seeds that will eventually develop into fruits that feed future wasps. But in order to do this successfully she must visit multiple figs and deposit pollen on each.

Our Fig with Insects formula utilizes a fig base instead of banana for geckos that don’t like banana, and includes black soldier fly larvae to provide high levels of protein at reduced oxalate levels while simultaneously increasing Omega fatty acid content. Although this diet mixes thinner than our other Pangea products, it still holds up well against lick marks!

Growth & Breeding Formula

Crested geckos can be easily sexed between 6 months and 9 months old by looking for signs of development of a hemipenal bulge, easily visible with 10x magnification or jewelers loupe. Sexing subadult crested geckos may require more sophisticated measures, such as using high-resolution cameras or microscopes to evaluate vent area pore formation.

Pangea offers industry-leading diets in various flavors and formulas tailored specifically to frugivorous crested geckos throughout their lives, known for their superior feeding response and nutritional value.

The Growth & Breeding Formula contains higher protein and fat levels, making it ideal for breeding geckos that lay eggs. You may feed this formula with or without live insects as part of mental enrichment; best to mix thickly like ketchup for best results.

PangeaCal

Pangea currently offers 7 different gecko diets, such as the new Fruit Mix Gecko Treat. This supplement can be a good solution for people who are not comfortable feeding live insects to their crested geckos; however, for optimal health it’s still important to offer balanced commercial mix diet at least 2-3 times weekly and provide live gut-loaded + supplemented crickets once or twice every week.

PangeaCal is an extremely popular supplement among crested geckos. Containing various vitamins and minerals essential for their wellbeing, PangeaCal should only be supplemented in moderation – too much could lead to toxicities in crested geckos!

Overall, both Repashy and Pangea provide good growth results for crested geckos. If you’re unfamiliar with either brand, I recommend testing both out to see which your crested gecko prefers best. Just make sure that they also receive additional foods such as complete diet mixes or fresh fruit purees; vitamin and calcium supplements are essential components of an ideal diet plan for their wellbeing.
