Pro Sweet liquid feed stimulates bees and adds weight to your hive, thanks to binomial and monodisaccharide sugars that mimic natural nectar sources.
This feed also includes lipids that are essential for digestion and glandular development. Consumption varied between treatment groups; however, at week 4 there was no significant difference in brood production among colonies due to limited access to pollen in our study environment.

Product Description
At times of nectar dearth or when additional nourishment is necessary for colony health, syrup may be an ideal way to provide more than just stored honey. Not only does it stimulate bees but it can also add weight to hive while helping prevent fermentation and bacterial growth.
This sugar syrup was designed to replicate the nectar collected by bees naturally. It contains disaccharide and monodisaccharide sugars that mimic nature, so bees recognize it as food. Furthermore, this solution doesn’t crystallize or ferment during its storage and use – ready for immediate consumption without needing further dilution!
Feed it during spring for stimulating brood, or winter to help your birds store up enough sugars for an efficient winter. Available at select stores and online.
Benefits
Many beekeepers prefer thicker syrups such as 2:1 sugar to water ratio as this facilitates comb drawing and winter feeding, without crystallization or fermentation occurring like regular sugar water does. It’s easy to prepare as well!
This ready-to-use liquid feed contains both binomial (which bees recognize as nectar) and monomial (which they recognize as honey) sugars to encourage your bees to store more honey for storage in their hive and help it gain weight more rapidly. No mixing required and it won’t crystallize or ferment like sugar water!
This product is ideal for fall feeding to build winter stores or emergency spring feeding, and also works as a protein supplement when pollination is weak or when almond pollination preparation begins in January. Larger quantities are also available by tote or drum – contact us for details if interested – making this feed suitable for use with both receptacle feeders and frame feeders (open bottom).
Ingredients
Beekeepers seeking to provide their colony with enough sugar syrup throughout the winter must mix a 1:1 ratio of sugar and water; either by weight or volume measurements will work equally as effectively.
This thicker 2:1 sugar syrup mix can be used in spring to stimulate brood formation or in winter as an additional pollen and nectar supplement, but should not be fed during honey flow or if any open combs need repair.
This mixture was specifically created to mimic natural nectar, with disaccharide and monodisaccharide sugars designed to stimulate bees while simultaneously adding weight to their hives. Furthermore, lemongrass and spearment essential oils act as antibacterial and antifungal agents and improve overall hive health; plus it won’t crystallize or ferment like traditional sugar water granulated forms!
Storage
Sugar Syrup: An Effective Substitute for Honey This thicker alternative to sugar water contains binomial and monomial sugars that stimulate bees while helping them add weight to their hives, unlike its water counterpart. Plus it won’t crystallize or ferment like its water counterpart!
Store in a cool, dry area; this may lead to some essential oils escaping during storage. But that shouldn’t harm your bees in any way!
Feed can be placed into a hive entrance feeder, which holds an upside-down jar or pail that slides into the lower opening to provide bees access without entering. Bees gain entry through holes punched into its lid. Alternatively, place it into a plastic freezer bag with 6-8 small holes punched across its surface to access its contents.
