Royal Canin Hypoallergenic dietetic food for dogs with food intolerances or allergies uses hydrolysed proteins to lower risk of allergic reactions.
They do this by using heavily hydrolysed poultry feather protein that has been hydrolyzed into oligopeptides and amino acids that do not elicit immune reactions in dogs.

Hydrolyzed Soy Protein
Soybeans (Glycine max) have been grown and cultivated since ancient times as an edible crop with high protein levels and minimal amounts of saturated fat content.
Hydrolyzed soy protein is made by breaking down larger proteins into amino acid chains using enzymes, then mixing these with liquid to create the final product. Hydrolyzed soy proteins are more easily digested by our bodies than their conventional counterparts and offer numerous health benefits.
One benefit of probiotics is to help manage symptoms associated with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, reduce inflammation and support a healthy digestive system.
Hypoallergenic is designed with highly digestible hydrolysed soy protein isolate of low molecular weight peptides to minimize food intolerances and adverse food reactions in dogs. Furthermore, Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA help support natural skin barrier function while the prebiotic blend promotes gut microbiome health – all combined together as part of an optimal dietetic feed solution for your pup!
Prebiotics
Prebiotics (also referred to as fructan-oligosaccharides, galactooligosaccharides and inulin) provide food or “fuel” for beneficial bacteria in your gut that help improve digestion and immunity. By stimulating their activity, these microorganisms promote improved digestive health as well as immune support.
These beneficial bacteria also play a vital role in helping balance hormones and produce neurotransmitters that influence how you feel. Their presence is key for overall gut health, including reduced inflammation.
Hypoallergenic dog food from Royal Canin features hydrolysed soy protein isolate with low molecular weight to minimize allergic reactions, along with highly digestible proteins, prebiotics, beet pulp, rice and fish oil for digestive health. Furthermore, Royal Canin’s patent skin support complex strengthens natural barrier functions of skin and coat. Omega-3 fatty acids including EPA and DHA help ensure overall skin and coat wellness.
Skin Barrier Blend
The skin barrier, commonly referred to as an epidermal barrier, acts as the outermost protective layer on our bodies’ surfaces, protecting against environmental toxins and moisture loss while simultaneously keeping beneficial compounds like healthy fatty acids and probiotics in and toxins out. A healthy skin barrier is key to vibrant, plump and hydrated skin!
Environmental stressors, lifestyle choices (hot showers and over-exfoliating), harsh ingredients in skincare products and more can all lead to compromised barriers – leading to dryness, irritation and itchy patches of skin. If this happens to you, dryness, irritation and itchiness could result.
At Beautycounter, we adore barrier-boosting blends containing an ideal balance of ceramides and skin-nourishing oils to restore our facial protection barrier. This powerful and highly nourishing formulation includes rice bran oil, allantoin, glycerin and oat beta-glucan to keep skin healthy and hydrated for the day’s journey ahead. Slathering this on as part of your nightly skincare ritual (it works beautifully under makeup as well!). We suggest doing this step last.
S/O Index
Royal Canin formulated this food in collaboration with veterinarians and it has a successful track record in relieving many cats from urinary issues such as painful urination, stones or blockages.
This diet designed specifically for cats from veterinary practices increases urine output to dilute excess minerals that could lead to crystal formation or stone formation, using Relative Super Saturation methodology and Reducing Ion Concentration methodology, to dilute excess mineral accumulation that could form crystals or stones. This special nutrition helps create an environment less suitable for crystal growth such as struvite or calcium oxalate crystal formation and prevent stones from forming in urine samples from the cat.
As well as this, diets with higher amounts of digestible protein and prebiotics promote improved digestive health by producing smaller, firmer and less pungent faeces. When making the switch to this lifestyle diet it’s recommended that a food transition period of 7 days should be observed to avoid any digestive upset.
