Veterinarian-recommended and specially formulated for your large breed dog, this food features high-quality meat as well as chelated vitamins and minerals, fatty acids, prebiotics, and probiotics – everything your pup needs for optimal health!
Made exclusively for large dogs, this food features real chicken or beef as the #1 ingredient, along with Nourish-Bites: nutritious nuggets that offer tender bites with real vegetables you can see. Furthermore, it helps support hip and joint health.
Ingredients
Rachael Ray Nutrish launched two new dog food formulas on July 8, specifically tailored to meet the specific needs of large dogs (30lbs or more). Both recipes, known as Big Life Recipes, use real chicken or beef as their #1 ingredient and feature Nourish-Bites: visible vegetables encased in nourish-bits clusters for optimal nutrition and health benefits. Both formulas help support hip and joint health too!
This recipe begins with chicken meal, a meat concentrate that typically contains higher levels of protein than fresh chicken. Next comes chicken fat which is high in essential fatty acids like linoleic acid.
The fifth ingredient in this recipe is dried peas, which are packed with both fiber and protein. Beet pulp provides energy in the form of calories while corn gluten meal acts as a binder to hold everything together.
Nutrition
Make mealtime rewarding for your big dog with this dry food designed specifically with them in mind. Packed with real chicken or beef as its first ingredient and packed with Nourish-Bites nuggets that provide essential nutrition, this food also promotes hips and joints health – two key concerns among dogs of all sizes.
This food uses protein from chicken fat, chicken liver and corn gluten meal – the rubbery residue left after most of its starchy carbohydrate has been washed off of corn kernels) – along with pea starch as an energy source and cellulose for fiber content. Unfortunately it contains 38% carbs, raising insulin levels and leading to obesity; GMO ingredients, corn gluten meal and unnamed animal proteins and seed oils as well as being cooked can cause vitamin loss which decrease its score significantly.
Large breed dogs require special consideration when it comes to nutrition, due to an increased risk of orthopedic disease and earlier onset of arthritis. Therefore, it’s essential that they receive a diet containing enough essential vitamins and minerals to meet both their growth needs and activity level.
Packaging
Rachel Ray Nutrish recently unveiled Big Life dog food, designed specifically for dogs 30 pounds or larger. Available on Amazon, Chewy and Walmart platforms, Big Life features two recipes – Savory Chicken, Veggies & Barley Recipe and Hearty Beef, Veggies & Brown Rice Recipe. Both contain tender meaty pieces with Nourish-Bites made with real vegetables visible through clear plastic packaging along with nutritious brown rice as ingredients; both recipes also claim to help support healthy hips & joints while supporting rescue animals as several dogs featured in ads were adopted from shelters!
