Premium Blend – Crested Gecko Food Jar
Crested geckos have specific dietary needs that must be fulfilled to keep them happy and healthy, such as providing both fruit and insects in their diet. Unfortunately, finding an ideal mix can sometimes prove challenging without endangering their wellbeing.
Zoo Med’s master animal nutritionist designed this food specifically for crested geckos to support digestive health by offering four viable, naturally occurring microorganisms in probiotic powder form.
This product utilizes a blend of fruits and insects, such as black soldier fly larvae meal, pea protein and dried bananas – as well as minerals and vitamins for optimal nutrition for your pet geckos. When mixed with water it forms a thick paste which should be fed three times weekly to adult geckos and daily to juveniles.
Blueberry Breeder – Crested Gecko Food
Crested geckos may benefit from eating blueberries occasionally; however, their diet should include variety in order to provide all necessary vitamins and nutrients without becoming dependent upon any one food source, which could potentially lead to nutritional imbalances and eventually cause obesity.
Before placing fresh fruits in your gecko’s enclosure, be sure to thoroughly wash them. This reduces exposure to bacteria and pesticides that could harm them.
Persin and oxalic acids interfere with calcium absorption in reptiles. You should limit citrus fruits such as oranges, kiwis and pineapples as these have been known to cause respiratory problems for some reptiles. Provide fresh fruit 1-2 times each week as part of a feeding regime ideally designed to meet crested gecko survival. Incorporating live insects may provide enrichment and exercise for juveniles while fattening up thin adults more quickly.
Crested Gecko Food – Adult Formula
Crested geckos are frugivorous animals. To keep them active and healthy, it’s crucial to provide them with a diet rich in fats, proteins and vitamins they require for good health and wellbeing. There are a number of crested gecko food products on the market aimed at meeting their specific nutritional requirements such as meal-replacement powders or pellet foods designed specifically for their needs – these should serve as staples in their daily meals!
Some crested gecko owners also supplement their pet’s diet with live feeder insects such as dubia roaches, dubia hornworms, super worms and wax worms for variety in its diet. While adding variety can be great, it’s essential that all feeder insects are gut-loaded and dusted appropriately before being offered to your gecko for consumption.
Zoo Med’s Crested Gecko Diet has been completely revised using the most up-to-date Nutritional Science information and techniques, to meet all life stages and stages of life for crested geckos as well as Day Geckos, Emerald Skinks, Gargoyle Geckos and other New Caledonian gecko species. This diet may also be fed to Day Geckos, Emerald Skinks and Gargoyle Geckos for complete diet coverage.
Crested Gecko Food – Juvenile Formula
Animal nutritionists designed this diet specifically to meet the dietary needs of crested geckos through all life stages. It makes an ideal option for breeders as well as Day Geckos, Emerald Skinks and Gargoyle Geckos (or other New Caledonian geckos). Furthermore, its natural flavors and aromas promote feeding stimulation. This meal replacement powder can be fed either dry or wet for maximum effect.
As a base food source for feeding your crestie, this food should serve as an ideal foundation. When supplemented with fresh fruits or gut-loaded and dust-free insects (dubia roaches for example), fresh fruits will all make up a well-rounded diet suitable for your gecko. Crested geckos require diets containing 2:1 calcium/phosphorus ratio.
Pangea crested gecko food boasts higher calcium and lower phosphorus contents than most fruits, making digestion simpler for these creatures. I’ve discovered that most cresties really enjoy either its watermelons or banana cream pie flavors of Pangea or Repashy food; though your pet may prefer one over the other so try both versions to see which yours prefers!
