Madhur Pashu Aahar’s Cattle Feed unit
Madhur Pashu Aahar’s cattle feed unit in Solapur, Maharashtra, has been acquired by Hatsun Agro Product Ltd. The plant, which is capable of producing up to 1,000 tonnes of cattle feed per day, will be upgraded with new equipment and lab testing facilities. The company is expected to start commercial production from 19th June 2019.
The Cattle Feed unit of Madhur Pashu Aahar is a wholesale trader of cattle feed, desi pure chicks and other products. It was established in 1993 and is a Trade India verified seller. Currently, it has a pan-India presence and caters to a large consumer base throughout the country.
Expansion of production plant in Tamil Nadu
Santasa is expanding its cattle feed production plant in Tamil Nadu. The company has conducted a survey in all 32 districts of Tamil Nadu. The study randomly selected two blocks of five villages in each district. In each block, 10 dairy farmers were selected who own one or two cross-bred dairy cows in early lactation or mid-lactation. They were asked to provide information on their feeding practices and milk yield. A veterinarian also assessed the occurrence of acidosis, which is associated with the consumption of rice-based feed.
The dairy industry is one of the oldest occupations in rural India. The industry provides employment opportunities for small farmers and supplemental income for landless laborers. In Tamil Nadu, a majority of dairy farmers are unorganized and feed native cattle breeds using local feed resources and agricultural by-products. Only a small percentage feed commercial concentrate mixtures.
Increase in milk production
A study in Spain has reported an increase in milk production in cows fed with Santasa cattle feed. The cows were milked twice a day between 7:00 a.m. and 19:00 h. The amount of milk produced was measured and sampled daily. Two samples from each cow were then mixed based on the milk produced during both milkings.
